we are fixing to set up a 900 repeater not sure of the exact freq
what would be a good choice of a HT and a good choice of a mobile radio
both could be just monoband
or hit me up with other options
going up on a 400 foot tower

Someone was looking out for me
the Motorola guy from midland is coming up in a few days to check out the tower site
going to be using 2 runs of 7/8 hardline
250 foot a run
one coax will be for the 900 repeater in the West Texas area
and the othr run will be for the GMRS
one antenna will go on one side of tower and the other antenna will go on the other side of tower
at 250 foot up
the gmrs will be running around 50 watts its cut back half way
the 900 not sure yet on output
shouldnt need much at 250 foot at 900mhz
anyway we needed a site to set up the link
well my house got picked for the link
so the little beam and the box will go at my house and plug into my router
and he told me since i was nice enough to offer that he was going to give me a
KenWood TK-981
with it already programmed
from what i have read its a nice little radio
anyway
i got the radio covered

900 mhz was never my thing....

is there commercial repeater stuff at that freq?

how was the split of 25mhz chosen?
do you have to make your own filter cavities?
are there any 'duplexers for mobile' available
at hamfests

a long time ago, there was a NEW commercial
band at 800mhz trunked with 45 mhz split, IIRC.
Is any of that stuff still around
and modifyable?
