Are you trying to power this radio up in a car or on supply in the house? Id be suspect of the supply first.

Is the power hooked up backwards? That would be the first reason that the diode would blow the fuse.

He swears that it was never hooked up backwards, so I'm guessing he did but just didn't notice.

How does the bottom side look? A picture would at least show the obvious. Even a close up of the power input section would help if it's even an eye catching something obvious.

If it worked before stored, even a flake of aluminum left inside during manufacturing could wreak havoc on that tiny smt stuff.

I didn't even ask for a pic of the bottom, but he said he looked it over and didn't see anything obvious. He is going to check the diode and wiring then get back with me.

The ferrite I'm talking about is under that diode, if it's shorted, it would pop the fuse before it ever made it to the diode. It may not be, just kinda looks like it to me.

Apparently the radio was sent to a Lou in Boston and got new finals and a tweak and peak. The bill was $600. I don't know who is crazier, the guy that billed it, or the guy that paid it.

I am not too familiar with Stryker radios. What is that lavender color wire coming off the diode?

I know he had lights installed in the case or something, so I'm guessing its power for those.
