WX2MIG. Did you buy the IC-718 setup you were looking at? I am looking at purchasing a very similar setup and was wondering how it worked out for you.

The IC718 is a great first rig. I doubt you will be disapointed with it. But if you want to add 6 meter, you may want to look at the FT450. For another hundred bucks you get the "majic band" too.

Nope.....Got an old Kenwood TS-130S for $200.00 off eBay.....

Might buy one of those IC-718's for our OEM if they ever get the funding squared away, then I'll have their's to play with until I can get one of my own.....
