i am enjoying the daylights out my new Yaesu ftdx 3000, I have had great visits all over the place with the radio on 10 12 15 meters with my 11 meter beam Mako 104 ,but need a little help on 40 meters.that dipole at 23 feet could use some help,if the dipole is higher the beam snags it on the way around.
My radio room is in the basmet ,about 62 degrees down there, would it be a good thing to leave the amp and radio on to avoid large temp swings ? KE0MPH

If you can not get the dipole higher AGL then look at a ground mounted vertical, they work well for DX, your low mounted dipole will be a good cloud burner for local chats and rag chews.

I have owned a acom for a year now,wow what a difference in making contacts,I have had 14,000 lookups, and 2300 QSOs all over the place, what a game changer.
I cut down an 11 mako,to 10 meters, and would have pile ups in Europe with people trying to get a S.D. Contact
Ke0mph,

Yep, an amp certainly can make a difference when you need it! I don't run my amp all that often - when I do it's mainly for busting a pile-up for a rare contact. It can make things a lot easier!
