I don't know if anyone else has a large junk box/ storage bin with lots of air variables. But I have a large assortment. Anyways, I am looking for a chart that roughly tells what the voltage rating is with regards to plate spacing. I thought I had a chart, but looked thru my older Arrl handbook and I have the 15th and 22nd edition of Bill Orr's radio handbook and I haven't found anything. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

per page 265 out of 15th edition Radio handbook, Figure 26.

Usual breakdown ratings of common plate spacings

air gap in inches/ peak voltage breakdown

.030 1,000
.050 2,000
.070 3,000
.100 4,000
.125 4,500
.150 5,200
.170 6,000
.200 7,500
.250 9,000
.350 11,000
.500 15,000
.700 20,000

Recommended air-gap for use when no dc voltage appears across plate tank condensor (when plate circuit is shunt fed, or when the plate tank condensor is insulated from ground).

Enjoy

 Thanks for that. I have several bread slicers and they have no voltage ratings on them. A couple do however and the vacuum variables have it written on them. Then again if they are vacuum variables chances are I don't have to worry about the rating.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
