I have a HR2510 and it works wonderfully. It has the chipswitch and tune up etc. One thing I noticed about this recent purchase is the receive audio is just not as intelligible as some of my other radio's. I seem to notice it when on AM. I bought 2 computer speakers which has helped but when I run other base stations they sound better yet so the HR2510 in comparison falls short again. If I didn't have other radio's to compare it with I probably wouldn't know any better lol

I believe that is a problem with your radio. My radios are all very intelligible. But a external speaker works wonders and helps a bunch compared to the 2.5" speaker in the radio.
