Another probably stupid question....about interference

Just found a better solution. I found a name brand HP power brick that put out the same voltage, -.5v, with a different laptop connector on it. I cut the end off the noisy one, and spliced it onto the HP brick, and its silent running. Laptop is charging/running normally. Old one was 20v....new HP one is 19.5v. Laptop doesn't seem to care.....and there is like zero measurable noise with this one.

unhook the antenna noise is gone. so my antenna must be picking up the noise

But when you reconnect it do you still have the ticking?

I'm probably being overcautious but does the laptop have a lithium ion battery? You have to be careful about using just any charger with them.

yes if i hook the antenna back up
the clicking starts up.
