Another Radio coming soon.

yeah there's a couple other threads talking about this radio. It's a homely looking wannabe Galaxy with some really nasty looking lettering on the faceplate. No use other than rag chewing on Am.... Truly looks like leftover parts put to use. The SuperStar name isn't even the same font as they've always used.

Hey factory workers, we've got leftover Galaxy 48T bezels, 3600 boards and some 98vhp amp sections, let's make something happen! Hey Boss, What about a faceplate? Just use the label maker and we'll call it a superstar.

That's what it looks like, Ranger is better than this.
If they had continued to develop as they did during the early 2950/2970/5054 days.......
But now this just looks just as you describe.
Leftover stuff.

Makes me wonder if this serves two purposes. Cleaning out the factory leftovers as already speculated and buying time to throw together an AM/FM model.

Just think .......
If it had FM, SSB, & CW, (like a real Ham Radio) along with the AM and PA that it has now, it would have to sell for $1000.00.

And if a certain tech got his hands on it, replaced some good parts for other parts. Then showed on a video that his meter got it to read 1200 watts it would fly off the shelf for $1500.00.

But you'd have to wait a year for the work to be done.

That's just to have the time to test the radio in the harsh conditions of a New Mexico dust storm.

They should come up with options like the latest Anytone models.
Realistically I get it, there is a market for these , they will sell them but it's a lot of coin for a real limited radio in my view.
Don't forget the $200 power cord....
