Ok gentlemen, if you could please answer a few questions. We are looking southern AB for a place and the Military will be moving us.
1. Any good shops out there that's reliable?
2. Is there an abundance of free towers in good shape??
3. Are the local clubs any good?

Well I can't speak for Calgary but Alfa Radio in Edmonton is who I deal with for supplies if I can.
Free towers huh??....What are you looking for as I work for a communications company and find out of one now and then. Even Hams in the city have downsized and I've helped them take their old towers down....got a nice Beam out of it for payment
We got a club here in town...Yellowhead Amature radio club...good group of guys and we have 5 repeaters all linked up with almost total coverage from Whitecourt to Grand Cache and into Jasper Natl Park.
