Well, I picked up a Din 8 connector (for the ACC1 jack on the Icom 746 Pro). and a long audio cable with the mono phone jacks on each end. I cut it in the middle (now I have two cables) and wired it to the Din 8 for send and receive. I put a little 1<img src=http://users.joplin.com/dutch64804/posticon1.gif ALT=":1"> isolation transformer in line by the Din 8 connector on each cable, enclosed in heat shrink. It looks great. I actually did a quick test without the isolation transformer and I had a ground hum on TX, so I quickly soldered it inline to do it right. I did some quick tests and it all works good. The only problem is that Digipan's CI-V support isn't working right for the Icom 746 Pro. Actually, it doesn't work at all <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:"> . I know the CI-V cable works, because other rig control software is fine. So now, I'm going to either find some other software (I wonder if MixW supports CI-V), or rig up another serial circuit.
Oh yeah, of course the first thing I did to test it all out was play music from my computer on the local 11m meter freq. I gotta say, an Icom rig playing music sure did sound nice!! <img src=http://users.joplin.com/dutch64804/yelclap.gif ALT=":yelclap">
