Any skip?

Since taking down my base antenna and going mobile only temporarily, I seem to hear no skip at all. I'm using a Galaxy 88 with 18' of rg213 to a SS ball mount and a 102" whip with a homemade extension to get 108" I've talked skip on this within the last month and my swr are 1.1:1 on 27.385 but all I get is 3-5 S units of static by day and silence at night.{Cry_river}I'm having withdrawals here and may need the Betty Ford Clinic if things don't improve. The base should be back up by next weekend weather providing.

It hasn't been the best for the past several days, however, I managed a little yesterday, and a couple today. Schedule and obligations prevented me from having much time for DX. This was on the base, no power, just the 2950 w/25W PEP and 4el beam.

Lotta South America and the Caribbean skip today. Chile, Brazil, Colombia ('Hey unit_399/J.J.'), Curacao Island, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and even Fortuna Island (that was cool!) in the South Pacific. Not great; but not bad either . . .

From Ohio I've consistently been hearing lots of SW US, Mexican/Latin American stuff throughout the 26-28MHz region. Of course, 10 and 12M haven't been all that great.
