Anybody heard of this one?

Got a friend that just got an amp from ebay and we can't find any info on it. Its an old tube amp with 6 or 8 tubes in it. All it says on it is--

Lafayette XL-5 The Talking Machine


Anybody know anything about it? Its big an heavy...
