The MRF 497 is $35 and the original MRF 477 is $30. Yeah you might yield slightly high numbers But Im looking for a cheaper substitute. Thanks for the info though. I might try to rig up a 2290 or sd 1446 to use.

I have found in some radio's you may need to add or change
some of the coupling capacitors to get nominal output,
But, overall this mod is cheaper than the MRF497 mod and more robust!
