I am at legal limit right now.

I believe if you had a Ham ticket, 185 ft would be legal. Put up a 10 meter antenna that looks remarkably like an 11 meter antenna array.

Is the center conductor braided copper?

Don't think so. It's probably stranded copper, but the strands won't be braided.

Even with the weather cracked coax I am still getting out to the west coast barefoot on the 148.

No its not.....you want a strong cable that will stand up to our northern climate......I do not want to do this that often.....I figure a big heavy jacketed coax cable will last longer than a little thin jacketed rg-58.

Besides...I have always used rg-8u.
