Anytone 6666

Board looks almost identical to the President Lincoln II with a couple of very small changes and the additional transistor added in the back.

I'm surprised it's so similar, although these days I guess I shouldn't be. Chinese factory is just going make a small tweak here or there and sell it as something else. I'd be interested to get a closer look at the board in a top view to see just how close it is. The main potentiometer area looks to be slightly different but everything else looks like a copy.

Just pick your flavor of Chinese or shall I shall I say Mexican food in that it just needs tweaked here and there to be called something else. My question is where is the market for the 6666 as compared to the Lincoln?
Maybe there's Anytone aficicionados.

Right now, it's marketed towards the giddy European crowd that's starving for something better than the POS Lincoln and cornball AT-5555 junk variations.
Maybe when China comes up in their QC but what country companies go to then to build something cheaper? I know,America, when the socialists have taken this nation down a few more notches in our standard of living. Obamacare anyone?

My thinking is that if you want quality you'll need to step up to a quality HF rig and leave all this low end stuff behind.

Hello , I see my first review video has been posted on WWRF
I have done some further On Air tests.

One with some Semi-local stations and one in the big contest running this weekend (What a shed load of signals).
If anything was ever going to test a receiver this is it!

I really enjoyed your vids, Dave. Thank you. One question, and please forgive me if I missed it in the vids, does the clarifier vary both transmit and receive frequency?

Hi. I acquired a Galaxy Saturn Turbo that goes into xmit mode, xmit LED lights, but no output at all in any mode when monitoring on a radio right next to it. Nothing. It receives fine. Also, in the amp module on back, there are MRF454's in there. Those weren't factory, were they? Any clues? Thanks.
