Are SDR receivers inherently on frequency?

Im talking about things like KiwiSDR and the like.

are the stations all right on the money frequency-wise? Is that inherent in the concept of SDR radio?

ive been wondering about this for a while so thanks for any info anyone can lend.

As far as online sdr's hard to say, depends if the owner calibrated it or not. For the most part yes i would think. At home sdr after adjustment yes. I have used mine for a quick frequency touch up on some radios and they turned out spot on.

Most software packages have an adjustment. In the past they all drifted as they heated up. Newer models seem to be better but my guess is they all still drift a bit. Some drift a lot.

My sdrplay rspdx is rock solid. 10 minutes or 10 hours its exactly on frequency. Even my cheaper rsp1 doesn't drift at all.
