I need some opinions on this mike! I want to run it on a Doc's tuned President HR2600. I have a 575 on it now but I don't like transmitting background noise! The 575 is okay in the pickup if I keep the windows up but if I decide to run this radio in the Big Truck for a while the 575 isn't gonna cut it..........I don't think! Some of you have heard me on my Galaxy 77 with the 636 mic on it......will the Road Devil be good on a radio that doesn't have adjustable mic gain?(I know about the button). I like 'em loud but they gotta be clean and free of background noise!

All opinions are welcomed and appreciated!!!!

I run this mic on my Magnum 257. I use it in my Jeep which is very noisy, especially with the soft top or with the top down. I get nothing but complements. If you're concerned about background noise, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this mic in a heart beat.

Excellent microphone, does everything the advertising promises! I use it exclusively when running SSB, it gives me the best clarity, voice quality and punch of any of my mics.

Thanks guys! Looks like we are gonna try the RD-104!

JD,

I run the road devil on my Lincoln and my Galaxy.

On the Galaxy I just noticed that the talkback squeals with the Road devil. When I put the stock mike, no problem.

{I need to do some investigatin'}

On the Lincoln it sounds good. That's what everyone tells me anyways.

I used one on my Midland 77-888 everyone thought it was an export radio.

Overall I really like the mic.

Make sure you double check the strain relief and all the screws. I have had some come loose.

Astatic sent me new screws very quickly when I emailed them.

Trail Boss,

I run an Astatic 636L on my Galaxy 77 in the big truck and no squealing from it! Ext. speaker is right next to my head(KW built in). Most Galaxy Radios have plenty of modulation if tuned right so I would think a power mic would be redundant. I just want the power mic so I can adjust the mic gain on the President.

Yeah,

I had the road Devil on the Midland which I no longer use, so I thought I would try it out on the Galaxy.
