I have just acquired an Astatic teardrop,however,some people I contact say it's not as clear as my standard Lincoln mic.In fact today,one station from 9 division said it tended to clip at the edges.Even when running with my truck driving friends on FM,they say it's not as clear as well.
Should I be concerned,and should I ditch it in favour of the standard set up?
Also,whilst dx'ing,it doesn't seem to be as strong on the mod/rf meter of my Lincoln,whereas the standard mic does.
