40 is sometimes absolutely FULL of surprises. About 20 years ago, on a Sunday just before we had to head for church, I called a quick CQ and was answered by 5R4GA, 589 both ways, each of us using a vertical and 100 watts. We had a quick chat, and 7Q7RM called me. I'd worked him before on 15CW, but not on 40.
Almost didn't go to church, but I figured I needed to tell someone, and the pastor is also a ham...
Is it possible to be on a lake and have a homing directional beam being emitted from the shore so a person could navigate to that beam's source? For example at night to a jetty.
