17m to the Canary Islands is easy. Try working them on 6m for a real thrill! The last solar cycle I worked EH8BPX on 50.185 MHz. with 100 watts.

I am just happy that I made the conatcts, C.K. concidering that the cycle is just starting to come up and I am running just a barefoot radio on a OCF windom I am impressed

I have not done much on 17m due to my main rig being a TS-820S which does not have the WARC bands and the FT-857 was out of commission ( that just changes last week with the arrival of a brand new FT-857D ) but I will say that 17m may become my favourite band after 20m. There is a lot of good DX to be had there.
