Best mobile used as base?

What mobile radio would make the absolute best base radio?

Pres. Lincoln

Delta Force

or

Ranger 6900HP

A must is; loud and clear am, EXCELLENT receive and rock solid SSB operation.

Let's hear your opinions. One of these days (when I get the bucks), I want a mobile to use only as a base, with the best RX, TX and SSB capabilities.

Well, if you are going to run barefooted, and talk on SSB, i would go with the lincoln, it's very hard to beat!!!

well "NB", i have only had this radio back for 2 days, and have had numbers of people say it was one of the best sounding radio they have ever heard in there life, thay all thought i was on some big equipment, like a kenwood or a Icom, or yaesu. I bet i had 4 people say something like that , other then everybody else saying it was great!!! Now, i trieed it on AM that time i talked to you, and that was the only time i had it on AM and the only time i plan on haveing it on AM, but when it comes to SSB, I have a true WINNER no doubt.

Appreciate all the comebacks for "best mobile" used as a base.

Well, I just purchased a HR2600 w/chipswitch & an X-Force XT400 for an unbelievable price. Looks like the 2600 is going to need a wee bit 'o work though. This will be my base set up.

Now I need to contact 'Doc so I can disguss what can/needs to be done to the 2600.

Devildog, I talked to Doc this morning, shipped it to him today, hope he has it on Sat. Can't wait to see what he can do with the 2600. I have heard he is the best with that line.

Glad you are happy with your 2510!

Later, hossless

Hossless,

You will be very happy with it. Doc did both my 2510 which is in the PU and my 2600 which is setup as a temporary base. The base has made the trip to CA ie. CDX-363 and across the "Big Pond" England ie. 29117 (Gordon) barefoot. Doc does excellent work.
