"Ok, i want your opinion on the BEST mobile ham radio that money can buy. I want something that is EXTRA loud, on ssb and Am, and it has to have PERFECT RECEIVE." . 1)Convert your electrical system to 24 volts 2) Off of 12 volts of this, Get something like a Kenwood TS-850 Of Yaesu FT-990 3)On the 24 volt side...hook up a Collins R-392 receiver 4) Add to the receiver a good DSP and a Sherwood product detector 5)Scramble up one of those 300 + ft. cell phone towers and attach a stacked set of 8 element Quad antennas. If you have a fear of heights or just can't find enough friends to climb the tower with you and give you a hand, Launch a satellite!

OK, A little more "down to Earth". Most Ham rigs use low level modulation. They don't sound bad but won't be "loud" Like a Galaxy etc. If you just want 10-11 meters I would suggest the Lincoln. If you want a 10-160, It depends on three things...How much $$$ you want to spend, how much room you have for a radio and how big an antenna/tuner you want.

I have a stock TS-50, I always get compliments on my audio quality on SSB and AM. Though like mentioned earlier, you won’t get that splattering loud audio that some AM operators like. I have buddies with 706’s and 100’s, we are all mobile and I sometimes can hear the DX stations that they can’t. Never did a side-by-side comparison, but I think the 50 can hear better.
Hey KG4SJO… Do you have the mod for the Mark V Field? It is different from the standard Mark V.
