Bipolar vs polar capacitors


I wouldn't do that . . .
I also wouldn't use another 10v cap to replace it, since they often fail more than higher voltage values of the same capacitance. Get some 4.7uf/25v caps instead. The 4.7uf caps are fairly cheap; you can buy a dozen quality caps for about $2.
