Since when did three caps rated at 500 volts each become able to withstand 1500 volts when in parallel?

I am trying to understand how this thing even works.
You have two devices that are rated for 100 watts.
Let's say perfect world and easy math that's 200 watts.

The input to each of these devices is ~10 watts.
How the hell are they driving these with an amp stage that's like 60 or 80 watts and not having them explode?

I guess that's why they need to change the transistors so often...

Why did Motorola and Toshiba get out of this business?
Seems like these amp assemblers alone could sustain their entire business trying to get 600 watts from something that should be a couple hundred at best.

What good is an amp that you can only run for a few minutes before it dies a horrible death?

You're forgetting the original purpose of these designs, you only need to key for a few seconds to move on to the next round in a keydown.
