Pretty sure that counter has two SO-239 sockets in back, so it can be inserted between the radio and antenna feed line. The sensitivity on those two sockets is reduced so the radio's full output power won't blow out the counter's input circuit.

But to probe a test point inside the radio, you need an input jack with higher sensitivity than that. Can't remember if that model also provides this, in addition to the two coax sockets.

thanks nomad yes = i use to have a b&k freq that use to do that.then the dam thing went south on me so the question is should i adjust it using the so239 or it would be more accurate using the test point ?? and anybody know or recommend the correct inexpensive freq counter for it

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
