Seems to me you will only know the difference if your circuit pushes the chip near its published limits. At modest supply voltages and output currents, they will perform the same.
Besides, it's a comparator. How different can it be?

@ AWP:Is it possible to be on a lake and have a homing directional beam being emitted from the shore so a person could navigate to that beam's source? For example at night to a jetty.
