I came across this little tuner. I remember these starting to hit the market before I took my radio Sabbatical. Anyway, I want a little tuner to use in my current mobile set-up. Anyone have experience with it or similar one?

Good thing about Amazon is if you don't like it send it back.
That's true....

If I can find a good deal on an LDG, I'll snag it. A small MFJ manual one would work, but I want something with a bypass. LDG used to make a Z11. That would be perfect. Gonna run this setup until I get an HF mobile picked out and installed.

I have one that I use mobile, with my qt40 in my truck on 10 and 12 meters. I have it wired to 12v cigarette lighter plug. It seems to work good. I have only owned it for a little over two months.

I have the one you linked, I bought it from Amazon a few months ago. I use it with a magnet mount Wilson 1000 on the roof of my truck. It’s able to tune the phone part of 12 meters to 2:1 swr. And then pretty much the whole phone part of the 10meters to 1.5-1. It’s small and seems to work well, although I can’t really speak to its long term durability,I haven’t used it enough. It’s cheap and made in china. I think an mfj or ldg is probably higher quality.

Thanks, just the info I needed. I'll be using the Wilson 1000, too.

What's that little expansion board that comes with it? Is it to replace the 12 volt barrel connector and power by USB-C? Now, I wish I had bought the unit with built-in battery. I might glue a AA battery back on top of it. It actually looks like a decently made unit. Haven't tested it yet.

I SOLD all of my tuners & am now using Resonant antennas on every band. If I get a little wide on HF or 6 meters & can always use the tuner in the ICOM PW-1 but that's very Rare. The resonant antennas work far better & I will never go back to an antenna that needs a tuner that's not doing anything to actually tune the antenna just making it look tuned. In my mobile I went from the Hustler antennas to a LIL TARHEEL HP with the ICOM 7000 & it's the Cats Meow. The extra Cash from selling all of those automatic tuners came in handy for more toys. {:>)

This little tuner is the bomb. For the price, it cannot be beat. Looks decently built. Wish I'd got it sooner. 125 watts opens lots of doors. They make one with internal rechargeable battery.

Get ya one. Pretty sweet.

I'm amazed at the amount of cheap stuff available.
I’ve run one for years. I love it. Quick and has a pretty good spread. I prefer it over my mfj auto
I liked it so much that I just ordered the one with an internal battery. I also got a Sure Com digital SWR power meter. It's right on with my old LP-100a. Just can't be beat. Hand dandy little thing.

  • [The booster board]:(5V boosted to 12V) is connected to the usb cable, and the 5.5 connector power cable is soldered to the booster board. If you use it powered by a portable power bank (not required under normal circumstances)
  • [Note]:Do not try to be lower than 5W,Insufficient tuning may occur within 5W.

A couple points I don't see in the specs.

What's the maximum tuning range? In other words what's the highest real SWR it can tune, 3.1, 5.1, 10.1?

Can it be set to semi-auto tune? I don't like full auto tune because you can be in a QSO and the SWR can jump suddenly due to rain, wind, etc. and start a tune cycle. I prefer to start a tuning cycle myself then let the tuner automatically find a good SWR. Is this what the AUTO switch does to cycle between auto and semi-auto?
