The SWR after the amp with it on sounds like there is a problem. I would not run it at an SWR of 2.5 because you will run the risk of damage. Just to be clear about the Dosy though, are you calibrating it with the amp on before you check? When you set it to the CAL mark, it adjusts the reading for the power that is going through it.

I would get an analyzer if you are going to be playing with antennas. Best investment I made in radio...
