I have a 2015 Chevy Cruze. I want to install my President McKinley. Anyone have a mobile rig in a Cruze? Just wondering if I'm gonna get a crap ton of noise. I will likely use my little RM Italy amp running around 80 watts.

My wife had a 2018 Chevy Sonic RS Hatchback. I was able to run a Wilson Little Wil magnet mount antenna and did just fine. No noticeable RF noise that I could tell. Was great to have on the road going back and forth from Kansas to Nevada.

That's encouraging

I installed it temporarily today. Using a Stryker mag mount on trunk lid. Powered my McKinley with a LiFePO4 battery in back floorboard. Took a little trip. I only hear a slight alternator hum. Barely notice it.

I have to dig up my little RM amp. I'm not expecting any RFI issue on transmit, but you never no. My old Ranger pickup would trigger my wipers when I keyed up.

I don’t drive a cruze but my altima work commuter is about the same age. I've ran several radios in it and have had zero issues with interference.

The only noise or interference is from the electronics of the modern day city.

I drive a 2011 Cruze, it’s not overly noisy with one weird expectation. On channel 2 after it’s been running for a while if you stop and turn the car off to run into a store for a minute when you start it back up you get what sounds like a fuel pump noise, move to any other channel no noise! Go figure. The noise was worse with a roof mount antenna, a bit lower with trunk mount.

Very. I tried different radios, always channel 2. I also have a ft891, it’s pretty quite on 40, 20 and 10 meters but ive never checked on channel, figure it would be the same though.

I'm thinking of putting an 891 in next. I had good luck with my last ATAS, so I'll probably go that way.
