Cobra 18 WX CB Won't Receive CB

New CB, antenna is matching Cobra, SWR 1.3. Radio receives WX no problem when I switch to CB all I get is a HUMMMM. If I turn it off on CB it auto goes to Chan 9 and just HUMMM when I turn it on.
HELP!
