Is there a simple, clear-cut mod to do this? The radio looks like a couple of resistors in that area are factory tied together, if I remember right.
I'd have to pop the top and look. I'd post pics, but have never had any luck posting the pics from my phone here. Any help would be awesome.

Actually this is one of the easy ones to do, That being said i'm going from memory from working on thousands of radios over the years but here it goes.
there is a diode D75 I do believe it needs to be removed then you need to find the wire to the fine control on the clarifier "VoiceLock" that feeds the voltage to the fine control on the Voicelock that wire needs to be removed and replaced with a constant voltage from a source on the board this board uses the MB3756 8 pin regulator and you can find a constant 8 or 8.5 source there, NOw if you have a digital voltage meter you can find that source closer to the Voice lock on the board. Sorry I'm not more precise than that but I'm doing this strickly from my old memory banks.
Now if anyone can correct me on this please by all means help this guy out.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
