Cobra 29 LTD Classic SE
What can you tell me about this particular model? This seems to be a lower production Cobra radio made about 1996. I don't see this model up for sale that often. Good CB Tech?
Thanks

What is the country & date of manufacture? There will be a little tag on the back that has that info.
The best Cobra's were the pre-1990 ones built in Taiwan, the next best were the Phillipines made ones up till about 1996. I would personally avoid any Cobra made after that year as quality went way down after that.

Just like the 148's, the early ones of higher quality have the mic plug on the side. The later ones of poorer quality have it on the front.
I seem to recall the better 29's were black faced and the later ones chrome, but I could be wrong.

Does rather help to zero in on which one of literally dozens of variations your radio works out to be. That model has been on the market for over 40 years. Made in more than a half-dozen countries, and even more different factories. They are not all created equal.

I will check the back of the radio for info. Thanks

It was made in 96 (China)
From what I can find out it was a 1 year run.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
