Cobra 29 LTD St parts list?

D11 tests good in the circuit board.
If so nothing will be gained by removing it from the pc board.

Every kind of fault I can think of would screw up either the PA or receive audio or both. This kind of puzzle is where an o'scope pays for itself. I would unsolder one leg of VR4 and see if that makes any difference. Grasping at straws, but that's all I can come up with.

I just keep thinking in my head, what would cause VR4 to not function? They used to mod them by removing d11 or just breaking it. I've heard that causes VR4 to not function.?? So what am I looking for after desoldering one leg? Functionality? I usually don't go this deep into a radio, but I had to on a Robyn dg30, and on this cobra. So I'm not super familiar with some of these components. Not a tech. And that's a 10-4 on the oscilloscope! Never owned one.

VR4 controls audio swing by turning it up all the way. D11 is connected to VR4. If D11 is removed or disconnected it will be the same as turning VR4 all the way up.

If you are looking for replacements For L14 and L16 Go to Kenselectronics.com in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Look under transformers. Look on the side of the metal cover for the Letter-Number for each one. The Letters printed on the side of the metal can will start with the letters "LA". You cannot purchase the ferrite cylinders separately. You will also have to have the correct tools to remove the cans. If you are unable to solder forget it.

Thanks for the info! I won’t need the coils though. That’s been cleared up already. I think?? I’ll start tracing that whole circuit soon.
