There are many different types of matching systems used in antennas. For example you could use a gamma match or a beta match on a 5/8 wave vertical groundplane. Just because you use one or the other doesn't change the fact that it's still a 5/8 wave vertical groundplane. A 1/2 wave dipole is USUALLY fed in the middle, but it does not have to be. If you doubt that, I suggest you get back out your ARRL antenna book and argue with it first, instead of everyone else. Just because the A99 uses a slightly different matching system than the diagram I showed you, doesn't change the fact that they're basically the same antenna.
