I got a cobra 29 ltd date of mfg. is Dec 11 i took the chrome bezel off to replace the meter light and the mic plug needed to be realigned it had turned a little got the light replace and mic plug aligned turned the radio on and keyed it up the channel display now goes out and so does the TX-RX light anybody have any ideas what is wrong

Start with going back and closely re checking your work. Look for anything on/around the mike jack that may be shorted or any little solder blobs that may have made there way in while you were working.
Pictures of the area if possible help members spot things amiss....

Don't know if a 2011 radio still used the front-panel slide switches with wires soldered directly to the lugs on the back. If so, did any of the wires get pulled hard enough to bend a lug and cause it to touch the one next to it?

Gotta figure something has been mechanically disturbed during the procedure.

  • @ Deon:
Good day, I have an Icom IC910H radio. I want to program a memory with split frequency tone on TX only and NO tone on RX,. Is this possible to do from the face of the radio? I don't have the interface to connect to a computer.

@Deon very unlikely to get a response here. You are better off starting a thread on the topic.
