Cool Jeep

The side mirrors are gone and so are the wheel covers,

I have seen guys use that spray on bed liner to hide rust.

I have owned 4 CJ-7s...a 79 golden eagle and a 84 renegade all fixed up for silver lake dunes and a 85 and 86 CJ-7s....the 85 was the prettiest....showroom new sky blue and all chromed out....the 84 was the most off road capable.....6pt roll cage and Cepek 33 MTs on Alcoa aluminum rims.....4 suspension lift.....the 79 with the 304 v8 was the fastest....I had headers on it with straight side pipes....it sounded mean and was great for coasting up behind people then revving it up and watch them jump in their seats....ha ha :D

My XJ has good rockers and pans, but I thought about using Herculiner on them.

I have used POR-15 for many years. It is really good stuff as long as you prep the surface as directed.

I wonder if he's a parking lot poser or he gets down in that thing?

The first vehicle I ever bought new was a 1978 Land Cruiser. I was stationed at Fort Bliss, TX. Had alot of fun in the desert. Used to drive down to Padre Island and load up some bikini babes and cruise the dunes. It was a chick magnet with the top (and the girls') off :w00t:

I had fun breaking that thing in...

Got transferred to Fort knox and damn thing started rusting all to hell...damn road salt.

No, I have heard so many rumors about it though. Back then, I was young and stupid and believed about everything I was told. I never left the perimeter sidewalk or stepped over that little rail that surrounded it. I figured they shoot my ass or something.

Fort Knox was my least favorite base. My unit stayed in old WWII barracks and had to take turns shoveling coal into boiler for heat and hot water. Had to share a mess hall with MP's. You were still allowed to drink 2 beers with your lunch...can't do that now.

Yeah...I heard the last president to see the gold was Reagan.

At least you got to experience the old school military before pc took over.:thumbup1:

Back in the 70s when I was in high school...me and a friend skipped school and went Urb Exing over in BC at the old FT Custer.....went to the old WWII German POW camp and went in the barracks....all they had to heat the whole barracks was 1 pot belly stove....can you imagine how cold it got in there during a MI winter....I bet they froze their asses off.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
