Did some more research and looks like the FC60 counter did make it into production at one point, although I haven't seen many of them around.

Still one day hoping to see a CP-2500, that thing is rare!

I remember them well. Had one in the early 80's for a short time. Eye Candy well enough but were not fancy performers. Wonderful museum piece but not a special daily talker.

I've got one that I picked up in the 80's. One of the few radios that are on my "keep until I croak" list.

Last piece of the puzzle - 7.5V battery for the CPI branded Turner Road King 60.

Very similar to the M+2 - smoking microphone, should never need to turn this up past halfway Road King 60 actually was listed as having a wider freq response than the +2. 300 to 3500Hz vs 300 to 3000Hz.
