I'm replacing the Bypass/Tuner Input switch on my Dentron GLT-1000c ATU to add another input. The new switch is a CRL 2500 series. It is no smaller than the original switch. Can I reliably put a kw through a 2500 switch deck in an ATU for HF? I've owned a few Dentron ATU's that have these or smaller series for an Input/Bypass function so I've always assumed it was OK.

I don't remember what the Clipperton L, or SB-220 uses. If it that series switch, you have your answer.
Yes, I understand. The unused metal on this wafer can be an issue. I'll keep looking for a better switch with unneeded metal to add the extra input. Stuff like this is getting scarce. Took me a long time to find a progressively shorting wafer.
The original Centralab product line got sold decades ago to a company called "E-Switch". They boosted the prices through the stratosphere. I need to dust off the wafers we kept after monobanding ham linears for the 11-meter hot-rod crowd. They figured out that it's a weak link in the chain when you start burning rubber. Gotta try Buddy's salt/vinegar cleanup routine he showed on his Youtube "The Radio Shop" channel. Might try selling them. Shiny metal probably sells better than black oxide.
Then again, the amplifiers we see with burned 80-meter contacts probably makes holding onto them a better idea.
