Jeff, I think where a problem comes is that the dc side electrolytic caps in those supplies are only rated at 16 volts. You could probably up the values and experiment.

Anybody use switching power supplies?

You can run any power supply as I have but my power company has so much noise I'm still trying to figure out my self how to eliminate noise

I think Eldorado828 is right.

If you are going to try this, instead of using 22k it will need to be ~15K resistor to increase the voltage up that High. With a 22k I can get it up to 14v.
