I recently drew up & printed parts for DC powered charging bases for a couple of HT's. Their OEM bases had either broken mounts or were AC only.

I did a couple for the BF-888S, mainly due to the OEM base being 110v AC only. The DIY version has a USB-C socket for 5v input.

Contacts used are Keystone 5321, M2.5 cap head screws hold them in place. The rest of assembly is done with M3 cap head screws.

I also did a couple for the UV-B5. The OEM base had cracked mounting splines that kept the radio/battery from being securely held. I used a pigtail barrel connector on these.

Both styles use a TP5100 charging module. It can be easily configured for either 1S or 2S charging and a 1A or 2A charging current. 1S needs >= 5v, 2S needs 10-15v. I set both versions for 1A charging.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
