Ya it's legal but - they are excluding Generals from being able to make contacts with them artificially shortening their potential scores. I don't get it.
Examples: Field Day, State QSO Party's, POTA, SOTA

I just don't understand them contests, on the weekends,
hogging up the bands with "CQ Contest, Contest"
then the pause and "contest"

"you're 5 by 9"

but if you are DX then you are "5 by 9 plus"

what a waste!

sometimes I will answer a "contester" and talk real slowly
and tell them about my radio and antenna just to piss them off!
it is funny. maybe say "hold on a minute, I gotta grab another cup of coffee"

or them Nets. OMISS, etc.

I stay off 2-meter repeaters. and them clubs. all them dweebs!

I have been messing with CB, Amateur, SWL, pirate, since 1973 or so.

I'm just saying! I just like to talk on the radio, build and repair stuff.
talk about that. shoot the sh!t. I even talk about grilling good food out in
my back yard and drinking beer. telling about the water moccasin
and a little alligator out off my back yard this morning.

I know many others can relate. that is why we don't get on the air
too much.

If the station is running and loud, there are enough stations in the Extra segment to keep the rate high. That's the objective, like it or not.

I am in the NE corner of the Texas bayou, just up and out of the flood plane on most of my land (9+ acres), when if floods I have about 1/3-1/2 of an acre in the far back NE corner that becomes the bayou. I get plenty of the snakes all year long and the occasional wandering gator once or twice a year that I notice or smell. Gotta love the Ham Radio/CB Radio while grilling and drinking beer!!

Not sure what that has to do with the subject in the post?

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
  • @ AudioShockwav:
Wes, it's better if you start a thread on the main forum, more people are going to see your question.
