Back when I was a teen the locals tried to hook me up with "Pork Chop" .. well that handle should have been enough.. but against better judgment (testosterone) I drove to the gas station a couple towns away. When pork chop came into view (from quite a distance away)... I just kept on driving.. back on home. My locals got a good laugh for a while after that.

That would’ve been a delayed 2-3 upshift for the ages.

(Thats a story would’ve reduced my Dad to tears the following day. Too bad that one’s teen years aren’t when one is open about one’s “trespasses”. He’d have wanted to know had the work on that big V8’s non-stock ThermoQuad produced no carb stumble. A flame-out would have been TRULY legendary).

( decades ago when I was a teenager) - Girl 1 and I talked for a few months and then I met her...Ugh...the horror of it all. Girl 2 and I talked for a month and then I went to meet her..Ugh...the horror of it all. I talked with Girl 3 for a couple months when she too, wanted to meet. I dropped her like a hot potato. (EPILOGUE) A year later she showed up at my part time job to show me what I'd missed (and indeed I sorely missed out). Even now, decades later, I ponder about my stupidity.
