echo install in an HR2600?

Howdy, can anyone recommend a really good sounding quality echo to have installed into my HR2600? Or can an echo even be installed into a 2600?

I bought a mobile max a while back for this radio, and I can't use it with the 2600. I have tried everything to eliminate the squeal and other wierd noises. I think the way Doc set the 2600 up, it's just not compatable with the mobile max.

I am now running a Turner +3 with this radio and it is awsome sounding. I like using echo occasionally though.

I also tried a Sadelta echo hand mic, and could not use it either due to squeal.

Thanks, Hossless

Hossless, you might try wrapping the power cord of the MobileMax, as close to the Max as possable, thru a couple of those snap-together chokes you can get at radio shack. You might be getting RF back into the Max thru the power cord. I have done this and sometimes it will stop the Feedback.

The 2600 is kind of small to get an Echo Board into.

Good Luck

You may also want to install an insulator between the Final and the heat sink. It reduces the RF feedback loop created by the rf differences in the Chassi ground and the Power grounds.

Make sure to use a thin coat of Heatsink compound.
