FCC requiring that EBAY sellers submit FCC ID on any radios going up for sale????????

I followed the link to the FCC requirements and looked at the FAQ. One notable question missing is... what if the radio was marketed before FCC IDs were attached but it IS FCC Type Accepted? The guy held up an old Cobra 23 channel and it fits that category.

It's the FCC in the US flexing its muscles against the marketing, shipment, sale, offering for sale of non FCC id devices allegedly under (Under [47 U.S.C. § 302a] and 47 CFR Part 2, Market Restrictions) . So the FCC are going after the platforms (eBay etc) because that's where they can make the biggest impact and cause the most trouble and the Federal law is strongest for them. *** I'm no US law expert, far from it, thats good old searching and AI, getting me to that Market Restriction part *** no offence meant or intended to the US citizens here.

Its a similar set of regulations in the UK, pretty much. OFCOM go for the market place, platforms as they have law to back them in this area. like the US they haven't bothered to date, now they are. the main difference around this is the level of fine in the US is greater than the UK and the US will vehemently pursue individuals to a greater degree than the UK.

So all the platforms would and could be affected by this ultimately.

So rather than waste time building up reputation on platforms skinning you a fee then leaving you in the dust wondering where all the effort went. Start buying and selling on private access forums like we used to, like this.

Ok so you wont get the family members of relative selling unrequired "radio" goods on a platform like eBay when they can't scenario, that's been easy for them to date. So more will probably go to landfill if its difficult to process via a platform. However, those that know will seek out private forums, message boards.

Well, that's my hope anyway if its getting banned from platforms.

If you’re thing is the restoration of old radios, for me, it’s either garage sales or Goodwill. My goal is a finished product that performs like new or better. Cosmetics aren’t my main concern, but I always remove any SSN number found. Reliving the past and respecting those who have passed. Ebay is only a part source for me nowadays after all else fails.

hmmm figures , well I'm quite sure that there are thousands of radios in the use already and flea bay isn't the only game in town . personally I absolutely HATE eBay after 14 years of buying stuff with absolutely 0 negative feedback they sent me an email saying my account was suspended . When I called to question, why some phantom department that deals with this that can never be reached, made the decision so I was told probably run by the same liberal sh*t stain fa**ots that run fleabay nothing but a bunch of wastes of skin and the perfect reason to legalize abortion after birth
