FCC requiring that EBAY sellers submit FCC ID on any radios going up for sale????????

[Techno1]

As of the 13th -10-26 was the notice from Ebay Im sure that are getting their AI shit together to scan these post.
Remember 3 hour difference at least where im at in Boston so 3 am here in Boston would be 12am Cal time. So might happen then but the notice said as of the 13th.
All my adds 75 out of 77 have been flagged with the FCC ID option to add it to all my cb related items.
So Im just waiting also for this to happen maybe like i mentioned Ebays AI is not working but give it time if ebay says it will happen it will happen.

Ebay did not fight for its sellers and buyers and now they stand to loose millions in sales in the Electronic area.

That's how I read it.
Not unprecedented.... Iran, Hong Kong, China, even Brasil and Turkiye (or however it's spelled now), has done so from time to time around elections.

They can't record all the voice data, like they do on the phone and even internet, if they choose. Don't want you guys causing an insurrection or something.

Or any Item that emits enhances or will allow a radio to transmit out side the fcc allotted 40 channels meaning no channels kits and also states nothing with a mic connector to connect to a radio to play music/sounds and other noises. All BS and ebay did nothing to protect its sellers and buyers. Ebay has to protect their lost $55 million law suit they got hit with about 2 month ago, I think it totaled about $60mil they lost for harassing a couple over some years here in Massachusetts.

Really! Im all ears on this. What happened?

here is letter all got from ebay that sells electronic equipment on ebay.
Now it will have to be FCC ID accepted. There will be a area where you will have to enter that info. Read below>

We’re contacting you because you offer radiofrequency (RF) devices to buyers in the US that require an FCC ID.

Starting October 13, 2026, you’ll need to provide a valid FCC ID for applicable listings, or your listings will be hidden from buyers. FCC rules state that unauthorized radiofrequency devices cannot be offered for sale in the US.

What is an FCC ID?

An FCC ID is a unique identifier assigned to a radiofrequency device that has been certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). You can usually find it on the product label, packaging, user manual, in the device settings under sections such as Legal or Regulatory, or in documentation provided by the manufacturer. You may also find the FCC ID when you look up your device online.

Examples of devices that may require an FCC ID include mobile phones, tablets, devices with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or cellular connectivity, and certain radio and remote control devices.

If you’re not sure whether your product is FCC-authorized or requires an FCC ID, check with the manufacturer or supplier.

Learn more about which devices need an FCC ID.

What you need to do

To help you provide this information and comply with the FCC requirement, we’ve added an FCC ID field for applicable listings. Here’s what you need to do:

• If you have an existing listing or are creating or revising a listing, go to Item specifics, expand Optional fields, and enter the item’s FCC ID.
• Make sure the FCC ID you provide applies to the exact product and model you’re listing.
• Make sure you provide the brand name for the item you are listing.

If you use a third-party provider or API to create or manage your listings, check with your provider to make sure they support the FCC ID field and will send this information to eBay. You may need to update your integration or listing process to provide the FCC ID for applicable listings.

For more information, visit our Seller Center page.

Thank you for selling on eBay.

The weird thing is I've been paying more attention to eBay UK (my side of the pond) since this thread came up here. And, funnily enough there are actually a few more non approved (UK standard Ofcom) rigs appearing that there was. Maybe eBay got bored over here after they were told the FCC isn't applicable here.

Anyway as per the snippet below

I saw a few texas star amps on ebay today here in the US.

The HackRFOne's are no longer on ebay. Odd that something which should be exempt from the rules (test equipment) is gone but the amps are there.

Nothing seems to have changed with ebay listings up here in Canada. Just checked ebay.ca now and Anytone 6666PRO is top of the page. Some Ranger export radios for sale there too. Interestingly, many of them are WAY down the page. But they are still for sale right now. Usually ISEDC (Canada's equivalent to the FCC) move in lockstep with the U.S., but considering the icy state of relations between our two countries right now I think it is unlikely they will do anything this time around. They seem to have a mini-crackdown every few years up here. Then a couple months after the mini-crackdown the export radios start reappearing on ebay.ca again!

Nailed it.

When an official does something that's cleary wrong, or says something that's proveably false, you're left with one either/or question. Is it the result of dishonesty or ignorance. Does the party in question know full well what's said is nonsense, or is he clueless about it? I like to call this the "political question". Fraud or incompetence.

This afternoon I counted six Palomar 300As and five Skipper 300s listed. Seems their "deadline" is a bit squishy.

I haven't gotten a nastygram about any of my sale listings.

Yet.

I bet they are overwhelmed with challenges to what they already did.

Actually.... monitoring stations (and satellites) do very well. Current RCMP intel is beyond what Hollywood can write (I worked I.T. on their systems 30 years ago and it was over the top impressive then), I don't even want to think about what military can do. It's sorted by A.I. and tagged, like a fingerprint, for future reference and more sifting.
As for insurrection.... Google "Canadian Trucker Convoy" and see the lengths "democracies" will go through to crush protest.

So, they are 10-2 @ 4watts, QSL @ 12 watts, and have a record of every time I pee in the backyard, since I'm looking at a satellite. I hope they got a good scope!

I just was able to add a new channel kit i designed for the pll02a ssb radios on Ebay and no problem it was listed. I think ebay is having problems with the AI software that will scan all the electronic items. So im still waiting for my 70+ listing to go hidden soon.

That's not what I said at all. Sorry if you were misled.
Capability and willingness is two very separate things.
As for power levels vs. ability to be received, my wife's Rogers cell phone will connect to Starlink in a zero-service area ( https://www.rogers.com/mobility/satellite ). Tech is great double-edged sword.
