Frequency counter and mod/watt meter recommendations

I have an sir/watt meter but want to round out my test equipment now that I am getting back into cbs. I'd prefer not to waste money on junk.

What frequency counter and modulation/watt meters and dummy loads do you recommend that would be reliable?

I've heard mixed things on the dosy.

I use a dosy 4002 meter and a para dynamics 600 at times and for a feq counter I use a BK 1805 for my test counter. has worked good for years.

DONT OWN ONE, BUT.

Six months ago I purchased a three window mod,watt and swr combo dosy. I really don't need a frequency counter but what I didn't know at the time was dosy sold that same meter with a frequency counter. The counter is attached at the bottom of the meter. I'm happy with the meter but had I known for about $40-$50 more I could have gotten the one with the frequency counter, I would've. The dosy I own works well. It's one of only a few new items I purchased after being off the air for over 30 years. The only meter I have to compare it with is my 35 yearold micronotta. Truthfully Thay work the the same. Giving me the same readings. The dosy definitely looks alot nicer but if you don't want to spend almost $140 for the dosy without the frequency counter, get yourself a used three window. If you look on this sites swapshop I'm sure you'll find a nice on for under $60. Good luck.

ROFL.. he was tryng to use it on ham bands..lol.. if ya wanna use it for ham bands
better off with a pal star or diamond ,ect . but no dosy . that proves nothing

I think the radio shack is better than the dosy meters.
