Radio was purchased new on 06/09/21 from a shop in NC. Amplifier Board FFC4/N4 purchased new on 07/17/21 from Barkett Electronics. Toshiba 2879 Red Dots were purchased new from a forum member.(matching Quad) Total cost $1,185 plus some 8 gauge wire and SB50 power pole connector. Lengthened the power pig tail to 18 inches.

Everything is in as new condition. The styrofoam insert got broken and was packing taped back together. That’s the way it came and yet the box is in perfect condition…so go figure.

Here is the thread of converting from 8 mosfet’s to 4 2879 Toshiba Red Dots. https://www.worldwidedx.com/threads/upgraded-galaxy-dx98vhp-to-toshiba’s.262231/

Asking $825 CONUS. Price includes shipping and PayPal.

Obviously this radio is to powerful to drive any standard amplifier unless the amp board is turned off using the switch on the back of the radio. Then again with over 500 watts output why would you need an amp. Radio comes with the original amplifier board so one could re-install it and do something else with the Toshibas.

No scratches, dents, hammer marks, drool

I can just imagine the AWG I’d need to run that in the Kenworth with a near 50’ TTL length circuit.

I’d want to run that power station sized cable like the exhaust on a Duesenberg.

Of course, 500+watts is serious power that could ONLY come from a side mic!

Here’s a couple more pictures showing those beautiful Toshiba 2879 red dots soldered in. All four are hFE 110 BAD48C4E-C627-4BE6-B4F1-B0D28EE52090.jpeg DC61C446-198B-4411-AC8C-3E11DCBD7E79.jpeg A7D6E773-26CB-48D8-B83E-9C132A1855CB.jpeg E4EFD95D-234D-4A14-B42A-6025F035FB36.png

It's always good to keep an 11meter radio, just in case!

Hooray, that means @NightThumper hangs around for a little longer.

If it'll keep you in the hobby then keep it as long as you want. We need the zingers and mentality of the nightthumper here with the rest of us 11 meter kooks 5f4cdb78-bbc0-42e0-92e1-7a9f3324b22a_658055433326522.gif
