galaxy 2517 freq drift??

A friend of mine has one of the New mosfet version for about a yr now and all the sudden every channel shifted up 10k and if you flip the 10k on it goes up another 10k anyone have a idea what happen?

I would look for a cracked circuit trace around the channel selector board. See this several times over the past year.
