Nope.
VC1 adjusts the radio's 10.24 MHz crystal. Unless you have an external counter to read that crystal's frequency, there's no need to molest VC1.
The counter lives on a tiny pc board behind the counter digits, if memory serves. There is a crystal on that board, and a tiny surface-mount trimmer cap next to it.
The only reason to tweak that adjustment would be if you have a calibrated external counter to compare the readings.
What kind of off-frequency problem are you trying to solve? Transmit? Receive? Both?
