Is VC1 the item to adjust the frequency counter to match the frequency? If it is, where is the location on the board?
Not an off-frequency issue. I would like the last digit to be 0.Nope.
VC1 adjusts the radio's 10.24 MHz crystal. Unless you have an external counter to read that crystal's frequency, there's no need to molest VC1.
The counter lives on a tiny pc board behind the counter digits, if memory serves. There is a crystal on that board, and a tiny surface-mount trimmer cap next to it.
The only reason to tweak that adjustment would be if you have a calibrated external counter to compare the readings.
What kind of off-frequency problem are you trying to solve? Transmit? Receive? Both?
